These errors not only occur during the machining process, but may also exist in the metal forming process. Therefore, after the semi assembly process, basic testing of metal assembly parts must be carried out, which is called functional testing.

Gas Leak Detection and Air Tightness Testing

Gas leak detection is included in functional testing to detect any damage to parts after molding, processing, or assembly. At the same time, pressure tolerances of components in gas leak detection will be tested to see if buckling under wind pressure will cause structural failure.

Airtightness testing is the most common test because semi assembled parts need to maintain fluid or gas during the assembly process. A functional assembly component needs to pass a leak or leakage test. It is not only airtight or waterproof, sometimes the assembled parts need to maintain a certain degree of airtightness for a long enough time.

Coating Adhesion Test, Rust Resistance Test, Salt Spray Resistance Test

The functional testing of metal parts also includes surface treatment during the machining process, such as powder coating and liquid coating. A well functioning coating requires coating adhesion testing; However, there are many external environmental factors involved in the coating process. It is not easy to achieve the same effect on the coating of parts at different time periods.

Therefore, we will conduct adhesion tests on each batch of products, such as cross-sectional tests, to verify the coating adhesion of the parts. Before the product is sent for packaging and logistics, we can conduct rust and salt spray resistance tests according to customer requirements, or request our cooperative team to conduct pressure and conductivity tests and verifications.
